At the stern there is a retractable wing with an adjustable angle of attack, special wheels with a landing diameter of 21 inches are shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport racing tires.

The interior has also been completely redesigned: a few elements remain from the production car, such as the characteristic groove of the transmission selector. The separate display of the media system has disappeared; its functions are assigned to the virtual instrument cluster. The new steering wheel has a carbon fiber hub and spokes, and the seats are upholstered in leather and suede.

The Nissan GT-R50 differs not only in design, but also in technology. The V6 3.8 biturbo engine has been modified with an eye to the engine of the racing “getter” for the GT3 series. It acquired larger turbochargers and intercoolers, reinforced pistons, connecting rods, bearings and crankshaft. A camshaft with a different cam profile, modified ignition, intake and exhaust systems, as well as oil nozzles for lubrication of the piston group appeared. As a result, the output increased to 720 hp. and 780 Nm versus 600 hp. and 637 Nm for the production version of Nismo.

In addition, the robotic gearbox and drive shafts have been strengthened. And the suspension is equipped with electronically controlled Bilstein DampTronic I shock absorbers. Alas, the dynamic parameters of the anniversary coupe have not yet been reported, although they hardly make sense for a show car. Now we just have to wait for the real car.

The first prototype of the “charged” Nissan Skyline GT-R sedan was presented to the public in 1968, at the same time the legendary Italdesign studio was formed. Now both companies have decided to join forces and celebrate the 50th anniversary with the release of a unique Nissan GT-R50 show car.

It is known that the modification was built on the basis of a serial coupe in the top-end version, and the appearance of the special version was developed by Italian specialists together with the English and American design studios of Nissan, although Italdesign took full responsibility for the construction of the car.

The Nissan GT-R50 is quite different from the original version of the model. This two-door model has a lowered roof by 54 mm, while the overall height of the coupe reaches 1,316 mm. All body panels of the modification were replaced with new ones, after which the length of the car increased to 4,884 mm (+ 94), and the width - to 1,992 mm (+ 97).

The lighting technology of the concept is completely new, while the designers decided to visually separate the rear lights from the body. Plus, a retractable wing with an adjustable angle of attack appeared at the stern, and special 21-inch wheels are shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport racing tires.

The interior has also undergone numerous changes. The seats in the GT-R50's interior are upholstered in leather and suede, and the only thing reminiscent of a production sports car is the characteristic transmission selector groove.

The show car does not have a separate screen for the multimedia system: the developers decided to assign its functions to a digital instrument panel. In addition, the car was equipped with a steering wheel with a carbon fiber hub and spokes.

As for the technical stuffing, the 3.8-liter V6 engine with two turbines has been seriously modified. The engine received larger turbochargers and intercoolers, as well as reinforced crankshaft, bearings, pistons and connecting rods.

Additionally, a camshaft with a different cam profile and oil nozzles were installed to lubricate the piston group; the ignition, intake and exhaust systems were also revised. Such numerous changes made it possible to increase output from 600 hp. and 637 Nm up to 720 forces and 780 Nm of torque.

The modified engine works in conjunction with a reinforced robotic gearbox, but the dynamic characteristics of the coupe are not mentioned. Other features include electronically controlled Bilstein DampTronic I shock absorbers.

The public display of the Nissan GT-R50 took place at the end of July two thousand and eighteen, and based on positive feedback, Italdesign specialists decided to produce fifty copies of the model. The price of each car will be at least 990,000 euros, excluding taxes, so customers will have to fork out more than a million.

Italdesign designed and built the car, and its unique, fresh exterior and interior design were developed by the teams at Nissan Design Europe (London) and Nissan Design America.

Starting at the front of the car, Italdesign has given the Nissan GT-R50 a distinctive signature - a distinct gold interior element that extends from the front end and runs almost the entire length of the body. The hood has a more pronounced shape, and narrow LED headlights stretch from the wheel arches to the protrusions above the air intakes.

The main eye-catching design element is the side roof line, which has been lowered by 54 mm. Its midsection is kept relatively low, while the slightly raised sides give the entire silhouette an athletic look. The signature styling element of the GT-R has always been the air vents located behind the front wheels, reminiscent of a samurai sword. On the new supercar they have become more impressive thanks to their elongation and added gold inserts.

When looking at the car from the rear, the wide-set wheels with tense, muscular wheel arches catch your eye. The center line of the body drops around the base of the rear window towards the center of the trunk lid. The rear window line slopes further and deeper than on the standard model. Combined with a variety of gold elements, it looks like a separate, complete piece of the rear end.

The GT-R's twin round lights have also been reimagined as a separate "floating" piece with thin rings of light and a hollow center, mounted to connect the outer support elements and the central part of the trunk. The rear end is completed by a large, adjustable rear spoiler mounted on two pillars. Specially designed wheels - front 21x10 inches, rear 21x10.5 inches - accentuate the daring appearance of the car. The body is painted in Liquid Kinetic Gray, which is enlivened by unique details in the anniversary color Energetic Sigma Gold.

The interior of the Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign is made in the spirit of modern supercars. The center console, control panel and door panels feature two different types of carbon fiber trim. The seats are upholstered in black Alcantara and high-quality Italian leather. The gold accents on the exterior are matched by details in the interior: on the control panel, doors and futuristic gear knob (the design of which is inspired by racing cars). The original steering wheel's center hub and spokes are made from carbon fiber, and its rim features a flat bottom and Alcantara wrap.

Beneath the new shape of the Nissan GT-R50 from Italdesign lies a car with high dynamic performance. Drawing on experience from GT3 racing, Nissan's NISMO division has refined the hand-built 3.8-litre V6 VR38DETT engine. According to preliminary estimates, it will develop a maximum power of 720 hp. and maximum torque of 780 Nm.

The following updates have appeared in the design of the power unit: two high-performance turbochargers with a large turbine diameter (GT3 level characteristics) and larger intercoolers; crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods and bearings adapted to work under particularly high loads; efficient oil nozzles for lubrication of piston group parts; modernized camshaft cam profile; high-performance fuel injectors; as well as optimized ignition, air intake and exhaust systems.

The car is equipped with a reinforced 6-speed preselective dual-clutch transmission and a unique all-wheel drive transmission (in which the gearbox is installed in the same unit with the final drive of the rear axle). The transmission with reinforced differentials and drive shafts effectively transmits torque to the wheels.

For the prototype, an updated suspension was developed with a system of continuous damping force control BILSTEIN DampTronic I. Effective braking is provided by front and rear Brembo brakes (front with 6-piston, rear with 4-piston calipers). These calipers are painted bright red and are clearly visible through the rims. Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (front - 255/35 R21, rear - 285/30 R21) improve grip, which is necessary to curb the engine's power.
